Actor, Lee Do Hyun, who is well-known for his role tvN‘s Hotel del Luna, is currently starring in the JTBC drama, 18 Again.

In light of his growing popularity, his past confession of his difficult family circumstances has resurfaced in online communities.

In a past interview, Lee Do Hyun confessed that both of his parents have been working for quite some time and that his little brother as a disability.

It’s been a long time since both my parents worked, and my little brother has a disability. Thanks to the welfare programs in Korea, my brother’s working at a market, but people secretly make fun of him for being disabled.

As such, Lee Do Hyun expressed his goal of succeeding to the point that only he has to work in his family.

My mom has been delivering newspapers for a very long time, so I really want my parents and my little brother to be able to afford a living on just my income. I feel like that’s the only way I’ll go to the military in peace.

My brother has a disability that affects his mental development. He lacks social skills, and his IQ is at the level of a middle school or high school student. On top of that, he’s more chubby, so people make fun of him. Whenever that I happened, I would go up to him and say, ‘I’m his Hyung. Stop it.’
