HYBE America To Debut New Group In Collaboration With YouTube Channel “Alan’s Universe”

HYBE America is set to launch a new pop group in partnership with YouTuber Alan Chikin Chow, creator of the popular channel Alan’s Universe, the company announced on Friday. Alan’s Universe is the 28th most subscribed channel in the world, with around 89 million subscribers. The channel focuses on drama videos and shorts aimed at tweens and teens.
As part of the collaboration, HYBE America has signed a global partnership with Chow and will establish a new label called HYBE America x AU. “This partnership reflects the future of entertainment — where content and music work hand in hand instead of existing separately,” said James Shin, president of HYBE America’s film and television division. He explained, “We’re creating a franchise with Alan that redefines artist development in today’s digital world.”
Alan Chow will serve as executive producer and co-CEO of the new label alongside Shin and HYBE America CEO Scooter Braun. Chow commented briefly on the collaboration.
“With Alan’s Universe’s devoted global fanbase and HYBE America’s top-tier music expertise, we’re creating a powerful new force. Our goal is to deliver meaningful and uplifting stories to our fans through a next-generation franchise.”
The label’s first initiative — a global audition — began at midnight on Thursday. Aspiring artists aged 18 to 28 of any nationality can audition by posting a YouTube Short of themselves singing or dancing with the hashtag #HYBEAMERICAxAU. Those selected will be introduced through a drama series on Alan’s Universe, which will follow young idols-in-training as they attend an art academy and form a band.
