New reports from Korean media outlet YTN suggest that HYBE Corporation has been attempting to reach out to the parents of NewJeans members directly.
YTN also reported that during an exclusive call with the media outlet, Min Hee Jin‘s side expressed displeasure at HYBE’s attempt to contact the members’ parents. YTN revealed that, according to Min Hee Jin’s side, the parents have not been responding to HYBE’s calls.
The news comes soon after NewJeans’ music video for their newest song, “Bubblegum,” and amidst the feud between HYBE and Min Hee Jin, the CEO of one of their sub-labels, ADOR. The dispute started when HYBE asked Min to step down from her position as CEO and accused her of attempting to take over ADOR’s management rights from HYBE.
The conflict then escalated when Min Hee Jin and ADOR hit back at HYBE, claiming another company sub-label, BeLift Lab, was copying NewJeans’ concept and choreography for their new girl group, ILLIT. Since then, both sides have taken shots at each other, with Min Hee Jin holding a bombshell press conference during which she exposed several private conversations with HYBE chairman Bang Si Hyuk and CEO Park Ji Won.
The dispute between both parties is still developing, with HYBE’s attempts to contact the parents of the NewJeans members directly being the latest update. Stay tuned for more!
