HYBE’s Bang Si Hyuk Gets Berated At National Assembly Hearing
During the recent National Assembly audit, HYBE‘s founder and chairman, Bang Si Hyuk, came under fire for his absence despite the intense scrutiny surrounding the company.
The audit — which famously saw NewJeans‘ Hanni share her experiences as an idol working under HYBE — sparked sharp criticism from lawmakers, including remarks directed at Bang himself.
Representative Park Hong Bae was particularly vocal, calling out Bang Si Hyuk for not attending the important hearing. He did not hold back at all.
Today, the person responsible for causing public controversy, HYBE’s Chairman Bang Si Hyuk, is missing from this national audit.
This is not the time for him to be enjoying himself in the U.S. As someone who repeatedly finds himself at the center of public controversies, he needs to understand the seriousness of the situation.

To drive his point home, Rep. Park displayed two viral photos showing Bang Si Hyuk enjoying his time abroad. In one already-viral image, he was spotted with infamous racy streamer Juice Seyeon and her sister. In another, he appeared relaxed, sitting by a table at In-N-Out.
Earlier, during the hearing, Hanni had a lot to say about Bang’s behavior towards her. She claimed the chairman never accepted her greetings and that she found him to be “rude.”
Chairman Bang Si Hyuk never accepted my greetings.
I understand that in Korea it is culturally demanded that you show respect to your elders, but seeing how he never accepted my greetings, I think he is a rude person.
