HYBE Boy Group Debuts New Album With Baffling Sales Numbers

They broke their own record and how!

A HYBE boy group has crushed their own sales record with their latest album.

BOYNEXTDOOR, the fifth-generation boy group under KOZ Entertainment, made their comeback with the album 19.99 and the title song “Nice Guy” on September 9, KST.

According to the data released by Hanteo, the album sold a whopping 609,666 copies on the first day of its release. Not only did 19.99 achieved the highest first-day sales in BOYNEXTDOOR’s career so far, it also surpassed the entire first-week sales numbers of the group’s last mini album.

HOW?, the second EP by BOYNEXTDOOR, was released in April of this year, and sold around 530,000 units during the first week of its release. Interestingly, HOW? recorded the biggest first-day sales by a fifth-generation group on Hanteo until its release date!

Given the recent apprehensions around the sales number of K-Pop acts slowing down, BOYNEXTDOOR’s achievement stands even more significant as one of the hopeful instances of K-Pop’s sustainable popularity. Congratulations to the group!
