In these documents, the company discussed Pro-Palestine protests, specifically reference an instance with ENHYPEN’s Jake.

The comments suggest HYBE decided to “wait for the issue to pass” as Korea is not involved in the conflict.

HYBE’s Thoughts On Pro-Palestine Protests Leaked In New Internal Documents

Jake’s response to fan protests also was viewed as having potential to cause a bigger “crisis,” with focus placed on fan reactions.

“The term “education on the issue,” often used by international fans, is particularly upsetting for Korean fans, creating a potential risk. Since this issue isn’t just a matter of personal choice but a complex political one, Jake’s response could become problematic in the future, so it’s essential to keep monitoring this situation. Above all, even if the situation seems resolved simply because Jake kindly responded to fans, this could still act as a tipping point that fuels ENHYPEN’s fandom’s identity-based conflicts. It’s a sensitive time where managing the atmosphere is crucial. If fans rally around unrelated issues to push for member reactions, the situation could become more complicated.“

Netizens have harshly criticized HYBE over the “dismissive” attitude in its stance.

Additionally, the document seems to admit that fan’s posts on Weverse mentioning Palestine were censored.

“Furthermore, after this issue arose, Weverse has taken a passive approach by restricting certain terms used by international fans in their coordinated campaigns. However, there was also an odd turn of events due to ENHYPEN’s manager. In short, this became the “Starbucks boycott incident.” Apparently, ENHYPEN’s manager posted a picture of a local coffee brand on their Instagram while in Jakarta, which international fans interpreted as support for the boycott. They responded with, “Even the manager agrees with our stance!” This then escalated into sentiments like, “Education is effective; let’s work even harder!” which has increased stress and anxiety for Korean fans.”

This served to spark more anger against HYBE for silencing fans and the idols.
