“The girl groups you mentioned do need to practice…”

This article is part of our coverage of HYBE vs. ADOR CEO Min Hee Jin. You can read more and view the entire timeline here.

Unless you haven’t been online in the last month, you’ve probably heard of the ongoing clash between HYBE Labels and ADOR CEO Min Hee Jin. There have been numerous scandals, plagiarism accusations, and other controversies regarding the feud, which has led many K-Pop fans to taking a side in the debate (or, in many cases, having poor opinions towards every party involved).

Some employees of HYBE and ADOR have even spoken up in defense or against the upper-level executives involved in the feud, which has only made the situation more confusing and frustrating for everyone involved, especially fans. And recently, some comments made by HYBE employees on an online forum called Blind have been gaining attention for their input on the matter.

Apparently, you have to be a confirmed employee of the company you’re representing to comment on this forum, which means that these really are employees of HYBE. The OP of the post in question starts off the conversation by pondering what NewJeans might be like without Min Hee Jin, to determine if the ADOR CEO is “really irreplaceable”.

A couple of people respond to the original post, agreeing with the author’s sentiment and adding on their own comments. They also bring LE SSERAFIM into the conversation and discuss their recent vocals and plagiarism controversies. Finally, the third person commenting mentions how “HYBE’s mains aren’t technically girl groups”, insinuating that it’s only their boy groups that really matter to the company.

OP: I want to see NewJeans without Min Hee Jin to determine if Min Hee Jin is really irreplaceable. As someone working here, I’m really curious.

> Oh hyung, I like the spiritㅇㅇ I’m also curious to see what will happen to NewJeans without Min Hee Jin.
> If you look at the girl groups who have come out now, can’t you see the answer? LE SSERAFIM’s skill controversy, plagiarism controversy… Is that producing? Can they even develop further from there…?
If it’s possible, why doesn’t it apply to existing groups…????
I’m really saying this because I’m curious..
> Regardless of the company’s position, the girl groups you mentioned do need to practice.
And we need to improve scheduling and systems so that they have the energy and stamina to practice.
However,
HYBE’s mains are technically not girl groups.
So basically, I think this is a testing period.
That’s why I want to see New without Min even more.

Reactions to this conversation have been highly critical. Netizens can’t believe that a company’s employees would be speaking about their own idols in this manner, or that they would be basically treating their female idols like “guinea pigs”. Here’s how some people have responded on a forum post discussing the above employee comments.
