It was announced on August 27, 2024, that Min Hee Jin has stepped down from her position as CEO of ADOR. Fans were surprised by the sudden news, given that the feud between HYBE and Min has been quiet for a month or so. ADOR’s company released a collective statement that claimed a board meeting was held, appointing Ju Young Kim, an HR expert, as the new CEO. Min Hee Jin will take on a more creative role instead.
This is ADOR.
On August 27, a board meeting was held and Ju Young Kim was chosen to become the new CEO.
Ju Young Kim is an HR expert who has various experiences in the industry and will be tasked with stabilizing ADOR’s internal organization.
Min Hee Jin will remain as an internal director and will continue to be tasked with NewJeans’ production. As such, the production and administration of ADOR will be separated. Previously, ADOR was the only (HYBE) label whose CEO was in charge of both administration and production, and that didn’t follow the multi-label strategy.
With this change, we are going to do our best to work harder for the success of ADOR and NewJeans.
Thank you.
— ADOR
The suddenness of change had the public bewildered, leaving them with many questions. On the other hand, another statement made by HYBE on the same day revealed that Min Hee Jin had not been blindsided by the reappointment. Allegedly, she had participated in the meeting virtually.
The board meeting held today, along with the articles of association, including the notification of agenda items and voting procedure was conducted in legal accordance with the procedures set by the Commerical Act. The meeting date was chosen amongst the dates previously suggested by former CEO Min Hee Jin in her request for postponement. Former CEO Min Hee Jin joined the meeting virtually, and the board made the best choice for the future of ADOR and NewJeans after sufficient discussion.
