HYBE Hires A Former SM Entertainment CEO To Serve As Their Chairperson For Japanese Subsidiary
In a business report on HYBE’s plans for the near future, HYBE announced its plans for HYBE 2.0. They delved deep into their upcoming developments for HYBE Japan, given the recent success of &TEAM. &TEAM is the first original group launched by HYBE Japan.
With their plans for growth, HYBE Japan has appointed Kim Young Min, the former general chairperson of SM Entertainment. Kim Young Min served as the representative director for the company in 2005, moving up in ranks to become the chairperson, and later co-CEO in 2019. He continued at the company until the early 2010s. Later, he was moved to DREAM MAKER ENTERTAINMENT, a U.S-based subsidy of SM Entertainment.
HYBE has since appointed him to serve as the chairperson of HYBE Japan, with aims of leapfrogging the company into Japan’s best entertainment company. They plan to use his success equations and know-hows of launching K-Pop in the Japanese market.
HYBE seems to have jam-packed plans for the future. Not only do they plan on fast-tracking their Japanese’s growth, plans are underway for HYBE Latin America, where a dedicated studio is currently being built. They plan on debuting a Latin American group using K-Pop production.
