HYBE’s New CEO Already Hit With Major Criticism For His Past
It was announced that HYBE is having a shakeup after CEO Park Ji Won was reported to step down from his position.
Shortly after the news was confirmed, Yonhap News reported that a new CEO had been appointed, Lee Jae Sang, the company’s current chief strategy officer (CSO) and someone who is known to K-Pop fans for his work with HYBE America.

Yet, when the news was released, netizens had extremely negative reactions to the news. In particular, a fan on the Korean forum theqoo shared a list of his “failures” during his career, which included planning the acquisition of Ithaca Holdings, which resulted in huge deficits, was on the list to be on the SM board of executives, put forward as a name to replace ADOR’s Min Hee Jin, before finally becoming HYBE CEO.
After the post was shared, netizens shared their own thoughts and how they seemingly didn’t agree with him being put into the position of CEO.
- Getting pushed around like a loser, but still gained something big. Congrats. I hope you achieve the great feat of bringing down HYBE. Best wishes.
- Where on earth is he looking at?
- Wow.
- ㄴㅇㄱ Let’s stop trying to figure it out.
- Wow, haha.
- LOL, the talent pool is really…
- Does he really have something? As the public, I don’t see his ability, so why are they so desperate to appoint him?
Even international fans were aware of Jae Sang’s past, with others bringing up his ties to HYBE America, which is under fire for CEO Scooter Braun and his Zionist views.
WHY ARE THEY MAKING HIM CEO OF HYBE https://t.co/APp47ERX0u

HYBE appoints their Zionist loving CSO – who was in charge of the grossly overpriced acquisition of Zionist Scooter Braun’s company – as the CEO.
Hybe stans – let’s be clear. Hybe is a fully Zionist sucking company now. It’s no wonder they act like total thugs https://t.co/uBVrjBUROh
