On April 15, users online claimed that a HYBE producer was seen “attacking” the mascot of NJZ, known as Bunini. The mascot is known to fans and is very public, with an appearance in a public store.

He sparked criticism for aggressively jumping at the mascot of the group, especially in the midst of an ongoing battle with the company.

Netizens identified the producer as FRANTS, someone who has worked with many HYBE artists, and it was posted on Threads but has since been deleted.

It was also shared on Instagram but was deleted.

Netizens shared their anger at the behavior of the producer, especially considering the maliciousness of his actions were against idols much younger than him.

Yet, following the allegations, Korean fans shared past photos from the producer, sharing that they had always supported NJZ and his love of products associated with rabbits, including Kuromi and Sylvanian families.

  • “He even congratulated them on their debut, seriously lololol this is so malicious. Bunnies are still out here trying to sway public opinion, it’s honestly infuriating.”

  • “Typical NewJeans fans… going after regular people again like it’s nothing.”

  • “But if you actually watch the video… it’s a different story.”

  • “HYBE should really press charges against some of their own employees. Digging through staff’s social media to witch-hunt them is completely unhinged.”

  • “He’s just a guy who likes cute stuff. Unfortunately, he got targeted by a gangster-like fandom… sigh.”

The group recently went on hiatus following a ruling from the court.
