HYBE‘s statement regarding the information on BTS Jungkook‘s Super Bowl appearance has sparked major anger.

At the end of 2023, Jungkook released a collaboration version of his song “Standing Next To You” with Usher.

It was recently reported that Jungkook and Usher were allegedly meant to perform the track during the Super Bowl, but it was turned down because of his military service, which started in December 2023.

On October 9, following the backlash from fans, HYBE made a statement to Ilgan Sports about the issue, where they simply replied, “We have nothing to say.”

When the comment came out, netizens hit back at the short statement, accusing the company of turning down the offer without consulting Jungkook. They also accused them of limiting Jungkook’s potential, with many hoping he would leave the company.

Even though I’m not a fan, it’s such a shame. The Super Bowl doesn’t just invite artists based on their Billboard or Grammy results from that year, nor solely based on their popularity at that moment. It’s really all about timing. If the timing had aligned with the rise of his solo career, the synergy could have been huge.
I hope HYBE completely fails.
If Jungkook had declined, they would have hidden behind him and spun it through media play. But it was HYBE that didn’t communicate this to Jungkook.
Is HYBE not doing their job, or are they just incompetent? Didn’t they claim to have a hundred staff solely dedicated to BTS? If a hundred people messed up like this, I would have crashed a truck into their office. I’m from another fandom, but in terms of the Super Bowl, HYBE really screwed this up.
