Yoon Joo Tae, a 34-year-old player for Gyeongnam FC, has been identified as the individual facing these allegations.

Recent reports confirmed that Yoon is under prosecution investigation for allegedly transmitting an STD to a woman. Following these allegations, Gyeongnam FC has taken immediate action, suspending Yoon from participating in matches.

The club acknowledged becoming aware of the situation on July 8 and promptly enacted the suspension.

This incident predates Yoon’s time with Gyeongnam FC, tracing back to before he joined the team in 2023. The club has stated that they will impose further disciplinary actions based on the investigation’s findings and outcomes.

Yoon’s career has seen him play for various teams, including a debut in Frankfurt, Germany, stints with FC Seoul, and recent seasons with Gyeongnam and Ansan Greeners. He transferred to Gyeongnam in February.

The Korea Professional Football Federation is also expected to deliberate on Yoon’s case, potentially leading to additional sanctions. According to league rules, violent or unethical behavior can result in suspensions ranging from several games to over a year, along with significant fines.

We plan to take strict follow-up measures based on the progress and results of the investigation.
