Idol Trainee Exposed For Starting Dating Rumors With An Underage Trainee And More

Recently, a contestant of PROJECT7 was allegedly exposed in a series of tweets over his bizarre behavior.

In late 2024, JTBC‘s PROJECT7 began airing. Unlike typical idol survival shows, PROJECT 7 introduced a fresh approach, allowing viewers to play a more active role in shaping the competition. From the very first round of voting, the audience will select their favorite contestants and form new teams.

The program ended with the announced debut of CLOSE YOUR EYES.

As with all survival shows, trainees developed fan bases based on their performance during the show, regardless of whether they could debut.  This includes contestant Kim Dohyun, who was eliminated in the 8th episode.

On March 14, however, fans shared some information about the idol trainee, alleging that he directly contacted supports and engaged in damning behavior.

According to the first account shared by fans, 20-year-old Dohyun allegedly created a fan account to engage with his fans online directly. This account followed other fanbases for Dohyun and multiple pornography accounts, including some dedicated to “teenage” content.

Fans who interacted with this account claimed that Dohyun would leak his own photos to attract more attention, in addition to talking to fans directly, sometimes even about other trainees.

Some of this discussion included “dating rumors” involving Dohyun and CLOSE YOUR EYES‘ Seo Kyoungbae, who is believed to have been 15 years old at the time.

Additionally, Dohyun allegedly used this account to have fans fundraise to give him a specific gift, which he was later seen wearing.

Fans used authentication processes to find proof that Dohyun was running these accounts behind the scene, and shared their evidence in these threads on X.

To counter these accusations, Dohyun shared that he was being impersonated on his accounts, claims that netizens do not believe.

It is not clear what label Dohyun is associated with, but no official statement has been released.
