Idol-Turned-Actress Confesses The Reason She Starved Herself

On February 13, idol-turned-actress Uee appeared in a YouTube series and talked about finding happiness.

I consider myself lucky and grateful, so I am rather harsh on myself.

She revealed her past experience of starving herself to diet.

People would say that I had all these great opportunities and that it would be wrong not to take advantage of them. This took hold of me in my twenties. I dieted so hard because I thought that the pants I was advertising had to fit me.

Uee, known at the start of her career for her “honey thighs,” confessed that she did everything she could to fit into her clothes.

Although that’s the image that I am known for, I had this mindset when I was younger. I wanted to wear a clothing brand, and I was the model for it, but there were times when the pants didn’t fit, and I thought, ‘Am I fit to be a model?’ and starved myself.

It was also previously revealed that she took on an extreme diet plan while filming for the drama Marriage Contract.

I went extreme then, and didn’t eat at all and starved myself. It was because the role I played was of a sick person, and I had to portray someone who was on the verge of death. I put my all into the role I was playing.
