iKON’s “Flower” Is Making Fans Emotional Because Of Kim Han Bin
The release of iKON‘s first mini album of 2020 is bittersweet for iKONICs. It signals the beginning of a new era for iKON without their former leader, Kim Han Bin (stage name B.I).
In June 2019, Kim Han Bin departed from iKON after Dispatch released three-year-old KakaoTalk messages regarding his attempt to buy marijuana and LSD. Even though Kim Han Bin is no longer part of iKON, he is very much present on I Decide, and in the hearts of iKONics.
Kim Han Bin is credited with composing all of the mini album’s songs, except for the final track, “Flower”. “Flower” is the first iKON song composed by Donghyuk, alongside HRDR and iHwak, and it’s making fans very emotional.
This beautiful ballad is moving enough on its own, but some believe it was written for Kim Han Bin. The lyrics, especially, “With flowers like you / following the wind that is you / flowing away / scattering away” are reminding them of words Kim Han Bin said in the past.
