ILLIT Accused Of Plagiarizing NewJeans’ McDonald’s CF Choreography For “Lucky Girl Syndrome” — Netizens React

“Again?”

ILLIT has been plagued with accusations regarding plagiarism since their debut. One such criticism was for their choreography, where many claimed that they copied NewJeans‘ signature dance moves. While ILLIT fans tried to dismiss this as a “homage” or “common dance moves,” netizens remained firmly on NewJeans’ side after they saw the similarities.

Hawk-Eyed Netizens Catch Similarities In ILLIT’s Choreography To NewJeans And LE SSERAFIM

On May 13, 2024, a new accusation popped up, where they accused ILLIT of copying NewJeans’ choreography. During the chorus of “Lucky Girl Syndrome,” ILLIT rubs their palms together while doing footwork.

Netizens found this move similar to the short snippet that NewJeans showcased for their McDonald’s CF.

Even the part where they shake their hands off seemed similar to NewJeans’ choreography.

Netizens did not blame the girls for it, but continued to criticize the company for their “blatant copying.”

  • Wow, there’s no end to this.
  • They’re such rip-offs FR. What is this?
  • Gonna skip on them.
  • Wow.
  • Crazy.
  • This doesn’t seem like pure jealousy, but at this rate, it’s like [the company] detests them so much that they went insane.
  • There’s something about “Lucky” being related to a bird or a cuckoo or something… I think they need to explain that first.
  • Wow, but honestly they can’t live up to the original. I feel like that’s why most didn’t know about it.
