ILLIT Teaser Photos “So Similar” That Even Friends And Family Mistook For NewJeans
In the most recent update of the public feud between HYBE and ADOR CEO Min Hee Jin even the parents of NewJeans have gotten involved.
One of the members’ mothers gave an exclusive interview for Daily Sports — in which she accused Bang Si Hyuk (founder of HYBE) of intentionally ignoring NewJeans multiple times and planning a long hiatus for them. She even further emphasized the plagiarism accusations regarding ILLIT.
In the interview, “Mrs. A” revealed that all the members’ parents had joined arms and sent an email to HYBE regarding their concerns about the ILLIT debut teaser pictures and their similarities to NewJeans concept photos.
The misunderstanding first came to light when friends and family of NewJeans mistook ILLIT’s concept photos for those of NewJeans. The similarity was so pronounced that it led to confusion even among close circles.
When the initial concept photos for [ILLIT] were released, my friends sent them to me asking if these were new photos of NewJeans. They mentioned, ‘But (one of the members) is missing.’ I was puzzled because they looked so similar. So, the mothers of NewJeans exchanged opinions, and we asked CEO Min about it. It was clearly something we had initiated.

As fans and the public have started their own conversations regarding this scandal, many are now trying to pinpoint which teasers could have been so similar that even NewJeans’ family and friends had mistaken the ILLIT members for NewJeans. Considering the timeline and the aesthetic of the photos, fans on TheQoo are alleging the following teaser pictures could be some of the ones the NewJeans’ parent was talking about.
Following the NewJeans mother’s interview, ILLIT teasers have now become a hot topic in South Korea, with the post on TheQoo surpassing 42,000 views in less than an hour.
