Club Announces “Burning Sun” Event With “Guest Of Honor” Seungri
In the last few months, the “Burning Sun” case has returned to headlines following multiple events. The release of the BBC‘s documentary on the subject exposed new facts behind the case, while the release and subsequent activities of convicted rapist Jung Joon Young have left netizens disgusted.

Each K-Pop idol jailed for their involvement in the case has since been released, with several attempting to return to activities. Seungri, who was found guilty of arranging sex trafficking, illicit gambling, and several other charges, has been seen most often.
Recently, an event including Seungri and “Burning Sun” has gone viral.
On August 8, an X user shared announcements from an Indonesian event promoter featuring two posters.

The event, titled “Burning Sun Surabaya” is described as a K-Pop night party, using phrases like “freedom” and “never-ending love and party.” After the initial announcement, several posts listed those attending the event as guests.
One of these posts includes Seungri, addressing him with the title “best honor.”
While Seungri’s ability to continue his career has been controversial, the naming of the event has drawn even more criticism.
The case was called “Burning Sun” as it was the name of the club that sparked the initial investigation and where many of the crimes were said to take place, including the alleged drugging and rapes of women.
The event is scheduled to take place on August 31 and is 21 and up.
