Insiders reveal Girls’ Generation will release an album to commemorate their 10-year anniversary
This upcoming release would be their first album in nearly 2 years — their first since Lion Heart in 2015.
Insider reports have revealed that Korea’s top girl group, Girls’ Generation, will be making their long-awaited comeback around late July with a new album. The group has recently started preparing for the album, which will look back at the 10 years Girls’ Generation has been together and look forward toward the next 10 years.
The insider report also revealed that SM Entertainment is trying to time the release of the new album as close to August 3 as possible, matching the release date for the group’s debut song “Into the New World”.
News about their possible return was recently leaked by Sooyoung while interacting with a fan in Spain.
“This year will be our 10 year anniversary. I hope we could win a Daesang in celebration of it.”

Following this leak, fans were treated to a surprise reunion during Tiffany’s live update on Instagram as all the members gathered together for a shoot.
The group has not promoted since their comeback promotions for Lion Heart back in 2015 and the release of their anniversary single “Sailing (0805)” last year.
