International Fans Rage At SM Entertainment Over Seunghan’s Withdrawal From RIIZE
On October 13, it was announced that Seunghan would be withdrawing from RIIZE.
This announcement came after the idol was initially announced to return to activities, much to the chagrin of many domestic fans who immediately began protesting. This included the delivery of flower wreaths to the company, which Seunghan allegedly visited in person.
On the other hand, international fans, who have continually protested for Seunghan’s return since his hiatus began, reacted with joy over the announcement, praising SM Entertainment for their actions.
However, with his withdrawal announcement, sentiments towards SM have changed drastically.
Korean netizens have congratulated fans for their “successful” protesting and wished other companies would follow suit to eliminate “problematic” group members.
- Wow, we did it ㅠㅠㅠㅠ
- BRIIZE, congratulations! You worked so hard.
- Congrats congrats!
- BRIIZE, congratulations!!
- Wow, really, congratulations!! I can’t believe it, seriously. (Since there’s a problematic member, I was hoping this would happen.)
- Fans, huge congratulations!!!! This is amazing, seriously!!!!
- Wow, congrats to the fans. You must have gone through so much stressㅠㅠ
International fans have reacted strongly to the news, many harshly criticizing the company for not protecting the idol. Many also slammed the company for bending to the will of fans angry over Seunghan’s “scandals,” which consisted of invasions of privacy.
SM was supposed to PROTECT Seunghan, but instead, they keep siding with knetz and saesangs for the most ridiculous reasons, which is incredibly harmful. All they’re doing is encouraging more invasion of artist’ privacy
It’s fuck SM forever and always.pic.twitter.com/SNTB1gExqK

I can only imagine the burden and anxiety seunghan is feeling rn but that is on YOU as a company to reassure and protect him. instead, you let a small portion of fans overthrow the voice of the majority and now the group isn't even getting what they wanted. I am so disgusted. https://t.co/LJQ3nZ5J5A

im sorry but letting delusional weird fans control the narrative of your group sets a disgusting and scary precedent. sm needs to protect their groups and do better – im devastated for seunghan and the other boys

Others also brought up Wonbin’s letter, reflecting on how this would affect the remaining members of RIIZE.
wonbin mentioning seunghan for the first time in months and telling everyone they all fought for this only for them to be forced to go back to pretending seunghan doesn’t exist while doing fanservice for those mentally ill freaks who caused their friend to give up

Congrats ot6, all this pain is just your fault. You’ll carry the weight of destroying the boys’ hearts for the rest of your mediocre lives. You’ll bear all the blame for destroying the dreams, desires, and happiness of Riize. #SMSupportsBullying #BringbackRII7E#RII7E_or_NONE pic.twitter.com/Q5X85Cz0oI
