ITZY‘s Chaeryeong was seemingly pushed by security when arriving at the airport.
On July 5, ITZY arrived at Gimpo Airport ahead of their schedules in Japan.
As soon as the members entered the airport, it was clear that there was a large crowd of fans and media trying to get a glimpse of ITZY. There were also staff and security trying to keep their eyes on the members to make sure they were safe.
At one point, after a netizen passed by the members, it seemed like one of the security guards had pushed Chaeryeong after mistaking her for a fan. As she came into the shot again, she couldn’t stop laughing, but the shouts of either the media or staff could be heard after the guard seemingly moved the idol out of the way.
When the clip was posted, netizens were absolutely furious. Although it raised more serious issues about the situation at airports, netizens couldn’t get over the fact the guard seemingly just assumed Chaeryeong was a fan and used physical force on her. Chaeryeong is a bright character so her reaction wasn’t surprising, but it probably took her by shock.

The security might be doing their job, but it shows that the situation can be so overwhelming that they might make mistakes, including mistaking an idol for a fan.
