The fourth generation of K-Pop has seemingly been overtaken by girl groups who have quickly gained popularity worldwide. Despite debuting three years apart, netizens can’t stop LOL’ing after an unexpected connection between ITZY and NewJeans.

ITZY debuted back in 2019 and has had huge hits and global success. Even though many netizens feel like their company JYP Entertainment hasn’t utilized the members to their full potential in recent comebacks, the members continue to shine.

NewJeans debuted last year under HYBE‘s subsidiary label ADOR and quickly saw their fame skyrocket, despite controversies surrounding their debut early on.

Both groups are scheduled for a comeback, and NewJeans has been teasing their album on Twitter. On July 5, NewJeans shared a poster with what seemed to be the title track for the new album, and it was called “Super Shy.”

Of course, considering the title is called “Super Shy,” it’s not surprising that the first thing many people thought about was ITZY’s hit song “Not Shy.”
