IU’s Upcoming Drama Responds To Her Reported Record-Breaking Payment
A representative of Netflix‘s You Did Good responded to reports alleging IU was being paid a staggering ₩500 million KRW (about $380,000 USD) per episode.
On April 6, a representative of Netflix’s upcoming K-Drama You Did Good stated that they had “Read the article” and that the report was “Groundless.”
Earlier, an exclusive report from Osen alleged that IU would be receiving an eye-watering ₩500 million KRW (about $380,000 USD) per episode. The article even alleged that there were rumors stating the actress was to receive up to ₩1.00 billion KRW (about $760,000 USD) per episode, but insiders stated the rumors were false.
IU Is Resetting The Actress Market With Her Record-Breaking Payment For Her Upcoming K-Drama
According to one report, the highest-earning actresses are Jun Ji Hyun and Song Hye Kyo. Jun Ji Hyun is reported to have received ₩200 million KRW (about $152,000 USD) per episode on tvN‘s Mount Jiri. Song Hye Kyo is also reported to have received that amount while filming for SBS‘s Now, We Are Breaking Up.
Meanwhile, You Did Good tells the story of the adventure-filled life of two people born in Jeju Island in the 1950s. IU will be starring alongside Park Bo Gum and will be complemented by star writer Lim Sang Chun, who wrote hit K-Dramas, Fight For My Way and When The Camellia Blooms, and My Mister director, Kim Won Seok.
