IVE’s Music Video Taken Down From YouTube, Sparking Concern Over The “Real” Reason
Earlier this year, IVE returned with IVE SWITCH, their second mini album.
Following the release of “Heya,” the group shared a second music video from the album for the second title track, “Accendio.” The MV features the group facing off against “evil” versions of themselves.
The music video was released in April 2024, meaning that many were left surprised when it was suddenly removed from YouTube on August 2.
When trying to watch the music video, a message stated that it had been removed due to copyright claims made by Jack Brady and Jordan Roman.
Jack Brady and Jordan Roman, also known as TheWavys, are listed among the song’s writers and producers, which has left many confused and concerned over why this has happened. Some expressed concern that the songwriters have some issues with Starship Entertainment related to plagiarism or payout of song royalties.
In case anyone doesn't know, Jack Brady and Jordan Roman are two of the songwriters of Accendio.
If the mv got taken down they probably have a fairly serious dispute with Starship 😶🌫️ https://t.co/91le1vQTxT pic.twitter.com/XL7UUZygqP— Jojo ✵ 誓い 🪽 (@jojo_nuna) August 2, 2024
Very weird timing for two of the composers to claim the rights. THIS SONG IS TWO MONTHS OLD https://t.co/bVoDmII86c

Many fans, however, pointed out that this was not the first time IVE have dealt with a copyright claim of their own song. When their track “Either Way” was released, the audio was hit with a copyright notice on IVE’s own TikTok account.
Despite it being their own song, IVE’s official Tiktok account is facing copyright restriction for ‘Either Way’. As usual, no action has been taken by @STARSHIPent to solve this. pic.twitter.com/Yalu8dxHMp

Some believe that the music video’s removal is the fault of Starship Entertainment, and demanded the company fix the issues.
This is the second time that Starship has let IVE’s own songs be removed from a major platform due to copyright claim
