Netizens Defend IVE’s Jang Wonyoung Over Ridiculous Accusations Of Being An IU Hater
IVE‘s Jang Wonyoung was recently hit with an accusation on an online community, Nate Pann. The OP posted a GIF of the star at the 2022 Melon Music Awards. When IU was on the screen, Jang Wonyoung was accused of being the only one who did not clap for her. The GIF showed everyone else clapping politely, while Wonyoung kept her hands on her lap.
As many began to accuse her of “not being interested if she’s not the main character,” and more, a wise netizen visited the original video. Jang Wonyoung had actually clapped for a few seconds in the beginning, but the scene was maliciously cut and manipulated. In the original video, you can see Wonyoung clapping up to right before the video was cut.
Likewise, the comments in the post were filled with ones that defended Wonyoung from the ridiculous accusation.
- “She clapped way more often than she didn’t. Are you kicking up a fuss now because she didn’t clap once? LOL”
- “It’s so transparent the way that hate posts are being spammed as soon as she received the Daesang. If you’re jealous, just say that you are. Pann B*tches are so jealous of a 19-year-old who already won a Daesang.”
- “IU fans, don’t act like this as it cheapens your level.”
Not only that, but other fans also defended Wonyoung, claiming that no one can be attentive to a situation at all times. Others blamed her long and tiring schedules as a top star.
