Netizens Defend IVE’s Jang Wonyoung As Haters Reach And Call Her Manipulative

Wonyoung: *exists*

It seems like IVE‘s Jang Wonyoung has been the internet’s favorite punching bag as of late. A post by a hater on an online community quickly gained over 300,000 views after the OP accused her of being manipulative and shrewd.

IVE’s Jang Wonyoung is so manipulative.

In their video, they were supposed to split into groups of 3 and one would do canoeing while the other would take a cable car. At first, she drew the team for canoe and she really made it so obvious through her expressions that she didn’t like it, and Liz said she wanted to try canoe so Wonyoung immediately grabbed onto it and asked her to switch.

After that, Yujin said that the teams were the same as before and suggested drawing teams again and so when Wonyoung put back her stick (for the draw) and the staff came to mix the lots up, she stared at them to death and took note of the lots and chose the one she wanted. She ended up in the cable car as she wanted. And when she was choosing the lot she went on about how she’s leaving it to fate and blah blah…

The situation was one where the girls drew lots to split teams. Wonyoung clearly was angling for the cable car team and asked to switch with Liz after Liz expressed interest in the canoe. Later on, when the staff was mixing the lots again for a redraw, Wonyoung took note of the lot for the cable car team and chose it. All of this happened in front of the camera and fans laughed at Wonyoung’s antics.

Fans thought that it was funny how Wonyoung talked about fate when she knew that her plan had been captured clearly on camera.

Unfortunately for the haters, netizens stepped up to defend Wonyoung instead, as they should.

  • “Can you stop bothering Wonyoung? Wonyoung is just working hard at her job and she’s not a bad kid so stop cursing her out…”
  • “Wonyoung is cute~”
  • “Seems like she’s just scared of water sports.”

  • “This post has inferiority complex written all over it.”
  • “Rather than manipulative, I’d say she’s just fast to catch on and grab what is beneficial to her.”

From the video, it is clear that Wonyoung did not have malicious intent, and neither did she try to manipulate anyone.

With that, hopefully, haters will refrain from framing the poor girl.
