Netizens Claim IVE’s “Baddie” Sounds Like An SM Entertainment Song With “Evidence”

“Tbh, I thought of Red Velvet when I first heard Baddie…”

For IVE‘s most recent title track, “Baddie”, off of their I’ve Mine album, the girl group went with a more edgy, girl crush-esque concept for the first time.

While it was overall well-received by fans and many enjoyed the change from their usual elegant and royal aesthetic, others felt that it wasn’t suited for the members of IVE.

“Baddie” isn’t really seen as a bad song in general, though. It has a catchy chorus and fun overall vibe, and some people have gone to the effort of seeing what it might sound like if other girl groups sang it instead!

Some people have been saying that the song sounds like it should belong to an SM Entertainment girl group, particularly Red Velvet or aespa. In order to prove their point, some videos have been made that show how these two girl groups might sing “Baddie” through the use of controversial AI programs.

Here’s what Red Velvet’s version sounds like, with reactions from netizens.

And here’s what aespa’s version could sound like, also with reactions on YouTube.

The two versions were shared on an online forum recently, where a lot of commenters agreed that “Baddie” might be more suited to a group that is already known for more girl crush concepts than IVE.

Do you agree with these opinions, or do you think IVE was the perfect group to sing “Baddie”?
