A viral TikTok of IVE Wonyoung‘s alleged “weight loss” has sparked a debate online.
Since debuting in IVE, Wonyoung has become one of the industry’s “IT Girls,” but her popularity has also led to criticism and a constant flood of comments about her image. In particular, the topic of her weight has always been spoken about, whether it was how skinny she is or if netizens deem her to have “gained healthy weight.”
Recently, a TikTok went viral where a netizen shared a photo from a recent fansign, and it seemed to showcase Wonyoung’s worrying weight loss.
When the video was posted, many netizens shared their concerns about Wonyoung’s weight and how thin she looked.
While many were concerned about Wonyoung’s weight, a lot of fans shared their anger at videos like this being posted and going viral. Weight is always a sensitive topic, and netizens hit back at the constant narrative against such a young idol.

Yet, along with fans hitting back at netizens who always target Wonyoung for her weight, many pointed out that it looked like the photo was edited. It’s not the first time a “viral” weight clip of Wonyoung has been exposed as being edited after videos from a performance were proved to be fake.
The comments on the video and on social media pointed out that by zooming in on Wonyoung’s socks and hands, the images seemed edited. Many fans shared the danger of spreading videos to do with weight, especially if they are edited.
Wonyoung’s weight has always been a topic of debate. Yet, as netizens have shared photos of the idol’s healthy weight gain over the past year, many fans want to move away from the narrative of her weight. K-Pop is a tough industry with huge expectations, and it seems like idols can never win.
