Meet The J-Pop Boy Group Who Is Sweeping Japanese Music Charts With A Korean Titled Song
K-Pop idol groups using different languages in their songs is pretty common, as many — if not all — have used English in their songs at some point in their careers. On the flip side, it isn’t as common to see other idol groups in the world using Korean in their songs. However, there is currently a non-Korean idol group who is securing the #1 spot on their country’s music charts with their Korean titled song.
Meet the Japanese idol group Choutokkyuu, or also more commonly known as Bullet Train. The 5-member boy group has been in the J-Pop industry for 10 years, having made their debut back in 2011 under Stardust Promotion.
The group previously began with 8 members, but over the duration of their decade long career, 3 members made personal decisions to depart the boy group. This left members Kai, Ryoga, Takuya, Yuki and Takashi — making them the 5-member group that they are today.
And while Bullet Train has been quite popular within the J-Pop industry for some time, they have recently garnered the positive attention of Korean netizens with their newest track. The boy group made their comeback with a song titled “같이 가자” or in romanticization, “Kachi Kaja.”
Yup, you read that correctly. The Japanese boy band made their most recent comeback with a Korean titled song — and it is making waves in Japan.
Despite having only released it one week ago, the boys have topped Japanese music charts with their song. With the release of “Kachi Kaja,” Bullet Train has been beating K-Pop groups Stray Kids and NCT 127.
And while the use of a Korean titled track is unique and amazing all on its own, upon listening to the lyrics, fans were quick to notice that Bullet Train’s “Kachi Kaja” also featured Korean lyrics!
After a post about it went viral on an Korean online community, netizens began to share their excitement and positive comments about Bullet Train’s “Kachi Kaja.”
