J.Y. Park hosts party for his 20th debut anniversary
Embracing the musical side of him rather than appearing as the CEO of one of the “Big 3,” JYP Entertainment‘s CEO, J.Y. Park (Park Jin Young) shined through with his love for music during his 20th debut anniversary party.
J.Y. Park’s 20th debut anniversary party was held on November 4th, and during the event, gave guests the privilege of hearing him play the piano as well as sing live after he enjoyed a few drinks.
During this event, J.Y. Park said, “I want my artists to be able to do things they do and learn their strengths. I can’t be here forever making things for all of them. I think when they learn what each of their role is in the company, JYP as a whole will become that much stronger,” in response to why he has been producing less songs.
As Wonder Girls Sun Ye‘s marriage came to the spotlight, J.Y. Park showed his loving support and congratulated her by saying, “She’s marrying a person she loves, I didn’t think it was anything to be stopped or persuaded from.” In addition, he shared that, “She is probably busy with missionary work right now.”
Reporters followed up with questions about the reunification of group g.o.d, to which J.Y. Park revealed he is close with them due to having lived with them in the past, adding, “I think that’s why their songs came out so well. I don’t think I’ll ever be able to produce like I did with them again; it’s hard for me to get so close to anyone else now.”
He also gave the audience an inside listen into his next album. He is planning to release a solo album, which “is going to get a lot racier because that’s what I’m best at, sexy R&B,” he said. Furthermore, he showed his passion for performing by saying, “I plan to sing and dance on stage until I’m 60.”
J.Y. Park debuted as a solo singer with his song “Don’t Leave Me” in 1994, and his most recent music video “Had Enough Parties” was released on September 3, 2013.
In addition, he is also known for creating Korean pop groups such as 2PM, 2AM, 15&, miss A, Wonder Girls, GOT7 and rookie singer Bernard Park for his entertainment company, JYP Entertainment.
