Japanese Newscaster Visits HYBE For Work… Then Goes Viral For A Shocking K-Pop Transformation
As part of Nippon Television Network Corporation (NTV)’s “THE MUSIC DAY 2023,” Japanese reporter Gido Tsujioka visited HYBE‘s headquarters in Korea—to celebrate HYBE and HYBE Labels’ K-Pop artists like TXT, and NewJeans, and &TEAM appearing on the show.
Gido’s trip to HYBE-land was to report on &TEAM…
…except, upon arriving at the K-Pop powerhouse, Gido got roped into an unforgettable experiment!
While interviewing &TEAM, member MAKI commented that Gido would look good in K-Pop makeup. And before Gido could wrap his head around it, K had him sitting down at the makeup station!
So then Gido underwent a K-Pop makeover, getting idol-like makeup and hair done by Korean professionals.
And the reveal? It went something like this:
Following the show airing on NTV, both Korean and Japanese viewers flocked to online communities to talk about Gido’s transformation. As humorous as the whole situation was, viewers found Gido’s new look to be actually quite dashing…
…and even traced resemblances to actual K-Pop idols!
- “He turned into a musical theater actor, LMAO.”
- “Bang Si Hyuk, is that you? HAHA.”
- “WTF? He looks so good in K-Pop makeup and hair! LOL.”

Could Gido make a K-Pop debut? 🤔
Sure, with his down-to-earth personality! This is not the first time Gido has gone viral for “having too much fun on the job.” Back in 2022 during the Olympic Winter Games in Beijing, China, Gido became a sensation for being the Panda mascot Bing Dwen Dwen’s biggest supporter!
