GOT7’s Jay B Reveals His Daily Diet, From Korean BBQ To Mint Chocolate
There’s no doubt that GOT7‘s Jay B has an incredible body, which is one of the reasons why fans have long wondered what he eats to stay healthy and attractive. In a new video for Harper’s Bazaar, the star revealed his typical daily diet from breakfast to snacks to alcohol.
1. Breakfast
After taking a refreshing shower and picking his stylish outfit for the day, Jay B starts his mornings with a well-rounded meal: one apple, one chicken breast, and one sweet potato.
Since everyone around him is so busy these days, when it comes to eating a full breakfast, he tends to order out. But, to make things a little more exciting, he adds his own ingredients to the mix. For example, if he orders jeyuk bokkeum (spicy barbecued pork), he’ll mix in some dried seaweed, a drizzle of sesame oil, and some perilla powder, then fry it all up again.
2. Lunch
Jay B went on to say that he doesn’t have a set time for lunch, but when he feels like he’s “hungry just enough,“, it’s time to eat. Eating just enough to fill him up, Jay B says he usually opts for Korean food at lunchtime. “Even when I’m abroad,” he confessed, “I look for kimchi jjigae [kimchi stew] and doenjang jjigae [fermented soybean paste stew].”
One of his go-to meals is beef with doenjang jjigae. After stirring in the soybean paste, he adds a medley of vegetables, tofu, meat, or seafood depending on what he has available. Then, instead of eating kimchi as it is, Jay B likes to stir fry his with oil, sugar, and perilla powder.
3. Dinner
When it comes to dinner, which Jay B usually eats before 10 p.m., he usually orders takeout or goes out to eat at a restaurant. Korean barbecue and spicy fish stew are two of his favorites, and as with lunch, he tends to stick to local food. While he does like burgers, he can’t handle eating more than a few slices of pizza because of the grease.
When he’s enjoying dinner with friends and having a few drinks along the way, Jay B’s go-to is sashimi. Alongside that, he loves soy sauce crab bibimbap, which is marinated in a delicious mix of green peppers, onions, ginger, soy sauce, and syrup.
I think my preference for seafood dishes… I do like the ocean, so maybe there’s a bit of that playing. And I also like fishing, so I’m thinking there’s a connection there.

4. Dessert
Jay B only eats desserts once in a while. Some of his favorite picks include Haagen-Dazs green tea ice cream and strawberry ice cream as well as crème caramel pudding. Jay B’s parents also own a yogurt dessert café, so he finds himself forced to eat a lot of leftover yogurt too.
5. Snacks
As with dessert, Jay B says he’s not really into snacking. But, when he does eat snacks, he reaches for sweet treats like white chocolate, milk chocolate, and the ever-controversial mint chocolate.
Some his favorite store-bought treats are Homerun Ball (a chocolate snack), Swing Chips (spicy potato chips), dried octopus legs, and beef jerky. When it comes to midnight snacking, Jay B can’t beat sashimi with sake or soju and golden olive chicken legs from the chain bb.q Chicken, eating the legs over the course of two days. He’s also partial to ramen since there’s so much you can do to spice it up.
6. Drinks
Of course, Jay B needs some fluids to wash all that food down. When he’s eating a meal, Jay B says he just drinks water—or occasionally Coca Cola, Sprite, or Chilsung Cider (which Jay B calls “the Korean Sprite“).
When Jay B gets a break, he likes to drink tea. In fact, he’s even been thinking about learning how to brew it from leaves on his own. In the meantime, he revealed, he uses typical paper tea bags that he buys online. Recently, he’s been drinking a cup of oolong tea every day—”Just because I bought too much,” he quipped.
Outside of that, he has his own special concoction: a mixture of plum extract and water. Shaking the mixture together “like a bartender,” Jay B keeps his plum water in the fridge and drinks around two glasses of it each day.
And as for alcohol with dinner, Jay B says “there’s just nothing like soju“—though he does like red and white wine when he wants a nice vibe. In fact, he recently registered for a monthly wine delivery service.
