“Extra Rude” Actress’s Explanation For Her Behavior Toward Yoo Jae Suk Leaves More Unimpressed
Revolver actress Jeon Do Yeon‘s response to the buzz around her behavior on comedian Yoo Jae Suk‘s YouTube show has left viewers even more unimpressed than before.
Jeon’s standoffish attitude throughout the episode of Pinggyego made headlines as the actress being “extra rude” to her show host and schoolmate.

In a separate interview, when asked about her apparent distancing from Yoo, Jeon was again adamant about having no real association with him—explaining that she wasn’t “drawing a line” because there is none to be drawn between them. She also hinted that it might be difficult to become friends with Yoo regardless of the fact the two went to college together.
Q. Prior to the movie premiere, you appeared on Pinggyego to promote the release. On the show, you and Yoo Jae Suk had a unique chemistry. It was interesting to see how you kept drawing a line between you and him. Is there a reason for that?
Jeon Do Yeon: No, there isn’t anything. That’s a fact. We went to the same school, and we met up again for the first time in a long time. There is no line between that person and me. I didn’t draw a line or whatever. There is no line. That’s all.
Q. Do you think you and Yoo Jae Suk can be friends going forward?
Jeon Do Yeon: He and I met two times total, including for Pinggyego. But it takes me a long time to get to know someone.
In fact, her responses about Yoo, compared to her response about co-star Lee Jung Jae, raised even more questions.
Q. You were reunited with Lee Jung Jae who made a special cameo in the movie. You two appeared in The Housemaid together. How was it working with him again on Revolver?
Jeon Do Yeon: Jung Jae is such an unwavering person. He does not change. That’s not the easiest thing to do. But he’s always so gentle and consistent. I really appreciated him being on set.
Following the response, viewers expressed disappointment in her consistent condescending tone and became convinced she lacked the right social skills to appear on entertainment programs.
- “There seems to be a strange sense of her thinking she made it to where she is now with hard work vs. Yoo making it to where he is when he seemed to be a slacker. At least, that’s what it looks like. She said Yoo lives off the fame of his schoolmates but she also decided to guest on his show to promote her work. So…”
- “I think Jeon is one of those people who should keep their mouths shut to maintain class and reputation.”
- “It’s not like Yoo was being nice to her because he thought of her as a friend… He was doing his work as a show host. At least he put on a show. She’s so rude.”
- “There’s something f*cked up about her tone in conversation.”
- “I watched her on another YouTube show with Jung Jae Hyung, and she was gentle and soft-spoken there… And despite the backlash she’s getting right now, she does seem to have good co-star friends. Jung did prepare a lot for his interview with her, and because she was more interactive, the show was good to watch. Could it be possible that she didn’t know what kind of a show Pinggyego was and she was caught off guard by the chitchat format of it?”
- “But that’s the thing. You need to be even more polite to people you’re not friends with…”
- “Well, she should have absolutely drawn a line and not crossed it, especially if she doesn’t consider Yoo her friend. Isn’t it like with your best friends that you don’t draw any lines? Or are her standards different?”
- “For sure… It’s not like Yoo was being nice to her because he thought she was his best friend or whatever.”
- “I feel bad for Yoo. He was just doing his job, but now he’s being talked about everywhere because of her.”
- “No, Jeon said that she watched Hwang Jung Min‘s episode on Pinggyego and acknowledged that the show is for blabbering away. Yoo was the one who then told her that it’s more like chitchatting and not blabbering.”
On the other hand, the Pinggyego episode has seen a spike in comments praising Yoo for his undeniable talent at hosting shows, even with the most difficult guests.
- “It’s incredible how [Yoo] keeps the show going when Jeon Do Yeon has an attitude. He keeps it light and hilarious… I felt the same when Song Kang Ho was on the show. But Yoo is a great host.”
- “This episode proves that Yoo is, indeed, a fantastic host. I don’t even know how he kept the show going. He’s incredible.”
- “It’s definitely easier to live life as a well-rounded person than a mean, picky one.”
- “I don’t even care about Jeon. This episode made me see Lim Ji Yeon in a whole new light.”
- “Lim Ji Yeon has such an adorable personality. This episode reminded me of how charming she is, haha.”
- “Yoo Jae Suk was so good at leading this episode. LOL.”
- “This episode really highlighted how good Yoo Jae Suk is at what he does…”
- “All said and done, I think we can all agree that Yoo Jae Suk is amazing.”
