Jessi Gets Cleared Of All Charges In Fan Assault Incident
The Seoul Gangnam Police Station has concluded its investigation into singer Jessi in connection with an assault incident involving a minor fan.
The incident occurred on September 28, KST, at Gangnam, Seoul, when a fan approached Jessi for a picture and was assaulted by a man believed to be the singer’s acquaintance. The incident was caught on CCTV cameras, and the footage was later released to the public by JTBC. Jessi was seen trying to step in briefly before leaving, which led to many criticizing her for neglecting her responsibility in that situation.
On the other hand, fans defended her strongly, especially after it was revealed that the man who assaulted the minor fan was practically a stranger to Jessi. Singer ØHENRY, who was also a part of the group that Jessi was hanging out with that night, came forward as a witness and emphasized her innocence.
Following the incident, Jessi was sued on charges of intimidation and accused of helping the suspect to escape. Eventually, she had to appear for questioning at the Gangnam Police Station on October 16.
The investigation, however, did not find any plausible evidence of Jessi’s involvement in the assault. The police found no evidence of her threatening the victim or aiding the suspect’s escape. Hence, they have decided not to proceed with the charges.
Meanwhile, producer Koala, who stands accused of threatening the minor fan, will face charges of assault. The main suspect, a Taiwanese national identified as “A,” has reportedly left South Korea.
