Jessi Takes Heat For Her Alleged Response To Fan Being Assaulted In Front Of Her
Jessi‘s image has taken a hit due to her alleged response to the reported assault of a fan.
According to a report by JTBC, on September 29, a man approached Jessi to ask for a photo with the star. According to the 18-year-old victim, he was walking to a convenience store when he spotted Jessi and approached her.
He was then reportedly assaulted by a man in the group of people with Jessi, as captured on CCTV.
Teenage Fan Allegedly Assaulted After Approaching Jessi — Star’s Team Responds
Jessi’s team stated they would cooperate with the investigation, but netizens have already criticized the star for her alleged response.
Videos just after the initial assault appear to show Jessi walking away from the scene as another woman in her party actively tries to separate the alleged perpetrator from the victim.
The official report also claims that they left the scene and reportedly stated they did not know the victim when approached by him and the police. Later, the mother of the victim went to Jessi’s company and was told that the perpetrator was Chinese, didn’t know Jessi, and was a friend of a producer.
The victim also alleged he reached out to the producer, who apologized but did not offer any additional information on the alleged perpetrator. The victim claimed that the producer contacted him again on the 11th, reiterating that Jessi did not know the person and instructing them “to stop contacting and threatening Jessi.”
Though the company said they would cooperate and appropriately compensate the victim if the situation called for it, netizens have criticized Jessi and her company for their overall response.

- “If you see a stranger getting beaten on the street, at the very least, you’d call the police. But someone came up to her as a fan, got beaten, and she just went off to drink?”
- “What’s up with Jessi? Not only did she leave the scene, but when the victim and police came looking for her, why didn’t she cooperate? Even if she just met the assailants that day, there’s still a process of how she ended up with them. She should’ve told the police that they were acquaintances of the producer. Why did she hide that and cover for them? At this point, Jessi is an accomplice to the assault.”
