Jessica forays into acting with confirmed role in Korean-Chinese joint film
Former Girls’ Generation member Jessica Jung will be making her way into the acting world as she was recently confirmed to have a role in an upcoming Chinese film.
According to China’s Sina Entertainment on October 27th, Jessica was recently spotted filming alongside Hong Kong actor William Chan Wei Ting (William Chan). This will be Jessica’s return to acting after her stint in the 2012 drama Wild Romance, where she played the supporting role of Kang Jong Hee.
The duo were seen filming at a restaurant in Beijing and that some fans were at the scene, cheering on Jessica from the sidelines, reports reveal.
The film is said to be a romantic-comedy genre called Love Delivery (愛情包郵) and is a Korea-Chinese joint venture movie with a 2016 release schedule. It will also feature Tang Yixin and Nicholas Tse. Rumors has it that following the Beijing filming, Jessica will travel to the U.S for further recording. Her specific role is still unknown in the movie.
Last year, Jessica officially left Girls’ Generation as she went on to pursue her dreams as a fashion designer with her company BLANC&ECLAIR. Since her withdrawal, she has been active in China, appearing in their variety shows and more.
