Ji Chang Wook Set For First Drama After Military Discharge

He has found his comeback drama.

Ji Chang Wook, who is currently in the last stretches of his mandatory military service, has reportedly already found his first drama role after his discharge.

He would take on the role of Yoo Dong Ha in Jang Jin PD’s new drama City of Stars. Yoo Dong Ha is a mechanic for light aircraft who gave up his dreams of flying planes after suffering from claustrophobia due to an accident while he was in the Air Force.

City of Stars is a drama about the youth of Korea who dream of space, with Korea’s first ever space airline, and also incorporates love. The drama is produced by Jang Jin PD, who directed movies such as Someone SpecialMurder, Take One, and Guns & Talks. The drama will be fully pre-produced and is planned to air later in 2019.

In response, Ji Chang Wook’s agency Glorious Entertainment released their statement.

We have received the offer for Ji Chang Wook to star in ‘City of Stars’. We are currently considering the offer.

Ji Chang Wook is currently serving his mandatory military service. He is set to be discharged on April 27, 2019. City of Stars has been in planning since 2016, when top actors like Jang Dong Gun and Hyun Bin were sought after for the lead role. They ultimately declined the role, and the drama was put on hiatus until now.
