“Trainee A” Ex-BigHit Music Trainee Spotted In SM Entertainment’s Trainee Group

He performed at “SMTOWN” 2025.

JJ is a Japanese-American trainee who once appeared with Trainee A. BigHit Music revealed the pre-debut project team Trainee A in March 2021, where they operated various social media accounts. The group even busked in Los Angeles together.

Later on, the group announced that it would be halting its social media channels on December 23, 2022. Little was known about the trainees who were in the project, or if they even remained in the company after then. Later on, Jihoon went on to debut in TWS, and Yorch in POW. Leo debuted as a soloist in 131 Entertainment, and Junil was revealed to have joined iNKODE Entertainment. Woochan also became a solo rapper.

Fans finally got news about JJ when he was recently spotted at SMTOWN in Seoul on January 11, 2025. He performed with SMTR25, a male trainee group.

Fans were able to spot him easily.

His visuals seemed to have only gotten better.

Fans already had an inkling that he had joined SM Entertainment when they spotted him with other trainees at SMTOWN in February 2024, but this is the first time that they are seeing JJ on stage.
