Netizens Become Detectives And Find Evidence That Actor Jo Byung Gyu’s Alleged Bullying Rumors Could Be False
Actor Jo Byung Gyu, who was recently accused of bullying by a netizen who shared a story on an online community board, released an official statement regarding the rumor and promised to take legal action against the person who posted it.
The netizen revealed that they first met the actor in New Zealand in high school. They shared photos of supposed proof to show that they attended the same school. They claimed that although they were not physically abused, they received verbal abuse.
Most recently, Jo’s agency HB Entertainment released an official statement stating that all the comments and rumors were false. They also informed fans that they would be requesting a police investigation in order to hold the person spreading false information responsible for their actions.
Netizens who saw these rumors decided to do some research of their own to find evidence that the rumors could be false.
In the original post, the alleged victim stated that they first met Jo in 2011, but when netizens searched Jo’s name in the school search engine, they found his name in the 2010 search history.
After searching his name numerous times, they concluded that Jo had attended the school in 2010 and did not appear in the search engines for 2011, 2012, and 2009.
Netizens also found a photo of Jo on the school community page to prove that the name that they searched was in fact Jo Byung Gyu.
HB Entertainment has stated that they will no longer stand back against malicious commenters towards their actors and will not take any leniency or settlements.
