Jo Se Ho Reveals He Purposely Didn’t Eat At Yoo Jae Suk’s Wedding — Here Is Why
Comedian Jo Se Ho shared the heartbreaking reason why he chose to not eat at Yoo Jae Suk‘s wedding.
The most recent episode of You Quiz on the Block featured numerous guests that came onto the show to celebrate Yoo Jae Suk and his 30th debut anniversary. Fellow comedian Nam Chang Hee made a brief appearance for a portion of the show and it was during this time that Jo Se Ho shared a personal story about his endless gratefulness towards Yoo Jae Suk.
The story began back when Jo Se Ho and Yoo Jae Suk were both filming for the variety talk show, Come to Play. Jo Se Ho shared the story of how Yoo Jae Suk looked after him one day after a recording of the variety program.
This was when I was doing a show called ‘Come to Play.’ At the time, I lived in Yongin and the filming location was in Ilsan. It was a very long commute between the two places.
— Jo Se Ho
The comedian continued with his story by sharing that after filming for the episode, Yoo Jae Suk came to up him and asked him where he lived. When Jo Se Ho told him he lived in Yongin, Yoo Jae Suk offered to help.
That’s when he (Yoo Jae Suk) told me, ‘if you go from Gangnam it’s a little closer, right? I live in Gangnam so you can ride with me in my car and we can go to Gangnam together.’
— Jo Se Ho
The touching story doesn’t end here as Jo Se Ho shares that after they arrived in Gangnam, Yoo Jae Suk gave him $100 so that he could take a taxi to Yongin instead of the subway or the bus.
He gave me $100 and said to me, ‘I want you to be comfortable and take a taxi all the way to Yongin.’
— Jo Se Ho
This was where Jo Se Ho confessed that after receiving Yoo Jae Suk’s help and money, he remembered something from the past during a time when he was struggling financially that he felt apologetic for.
As I received the taxi money, I remembered a moment from our past that I felt bad about. I went to Yoo Jae Suk’s wedding and could only give him a gift of $50 at the time. I felt so bad that I even considered not going to the wedding at all.
— Jo Se Ho
Jo Se Ho shared, however, that he figured out a way to make things “even” since he couldn’t give Yoo Jae Suk a big wedding gift.
I thought of a solution to the problem. I heard that the meals at weddings were expensive so I decided that I would pay my $50 and not eat the food.
— Jo Se Ho
Nam Chang Hee and Yoo Jae Suk made light of the story, as Nam Chang Hee agreed with Jo Se Ho’s decision.
You pretty much paid $150 by doing that!
— Nam Chang Hee
After the laughter ended, Jo Se Ho brought it back to Yoo Jae Suk’s thoughtful car ride story. Jo Se Ho revealed that after Yoo Jae Suk helped him out with the car ride to Gangnam and with the $100, he made a personal decision to repay him however he can.
After receiving a taxi fare that was double my wedding gift to him, that’s when I realized that I can’t ever repay him in monetary form. So I decided to pay him back in the ways that I can and I will work really hard to do so.
— Jo Se Ho
Yoo Jae Suk concluded the heartwarming story on a lighter note, as he always does to ensure laughter and positivity from the studio.
I didn’t know about the $50. I will give the same amount for Se Ho-sshi when he gets married.
— Jo Se Ho
