JYP Entertainment Pleaded With Stray Kids’ Changbin To Stop Gaining Weight
When Stray Kids first debuted, member Changbin was on the leaner side, sporting visuals that might not have been recognizable to those who have become fans of the idol more recently.
Since then, the idol has made a massive physical transformation due to his dedication to fitness and working out. Though it has become more common for idols to bulk up and gain muscle, Changbin still stands out for his massive and hard-earned muscles.
While fans have loved his visuals throughout his career, JYP Entertainment was not necessarily supportive of his physical transformation.
Ahead of their comeback, Stray Kids’ Bang Chan and Changbin appeared on Kim Jong Kook’s Gym Jong Kook, where they worked out with the older celebrity.
Before and during the workout, Jong Kook usually asks guests about how they work out and other related topics. After being asked, Changbin shares that they have been working out for about five years.
Jong Kook then asks if JYP Entertainment had ever restricted them in any way. Changbin says that the company wasn’t big on him gaining weight, revealing that JYPE attempted to curb his bulking.
Ultimately, Changbin’s will won out, as he says that JYPE stopped making requests after that.
With it being common knowledge that companies will go to extremes to control idols’ weights and visuals, it is nice to hear that Changbin stood his ground on what he wanted!
