K-Drama “Yumi’s Cells” Confirms Ahn Bo Hyun, Lee Yoo Bi, Park Ji Hyun, And Multiple Seasons
Ahn Bo Hyun, Lee Yoo Bi, and Park Ji Hyun have been confirmed to join Kim Go Eun in the upcoming series, Yumi’s Cells!
Yumi’s Cells is based on the webtoon of the same name and will tell the story of an office worker named Yumi from the point of view of her brain cells controlling every thought, feeling, and action.
The series will now begin filming since the cast has been finalized, and it is set to premiere on TVing and tvN in the second half of 2021. Yumi’s Cells will be directed by Shopping King Louie and My Holo Love‘s Lee Sang Yeob and co-written by Memories of the Alhambra and W‘s writer Song Jae Jung and Find Me in Your Memory‘s Kim Yoon Joo. Rookie writer Kim Kyung Ran will also be assisting in the screenwriting.
Kim Go Eun will be playing the main role of Yumi. Yumi’s “love cell” has fallen into a coma after a failed relationship flipped her world upside down. The series will depict Yumi’s growth and transformation as her cells work to wake the “love cell.” The K-Drama will also show the process of getting to know one’s “prime cell” (the cell that represents a person) while Yumi goes through her daily life.
Ahn Bo Hyun will be taking the role of game developer Goo Woong, whose mindset is simply “yes or no.” Although he is not very emotional, he begins to wake up Yumi’s “love cell” with his simple and honest personality.
Lee Yoo Bi will play the adorable fool, Ruby. Although she’s extremely experienced in the romance department, she is energetic and affectionate.
Park Ji Hyun will be Goo Woong’s friend Sae Yi, who is gorgeous and ambitious. She dreams of becoming the best game art director. She will be Yumi’s love rival, adding tension to their everyday life.
In order to maximize the charm of the original work, we combined both real-life footage and animations. It will have a new episodic format, and is being prepared as a series with multiple seasons that has 14 episodes per season. We plan on greeting viewers with a new, never-before-seen visual experience that is still relatable.
