Kakao Is Opening A Drama Streaming Platform And Here’s The List Of New Dramas You Can Watch On It
Kakao Corp, as in the popular Korean messenger app, KakaoTalk, is opening its very own streaming platform. The popularity of such platforms have risen in the past few months, given the extended hours people have been spending at home. SEEZN, Netflix and Watcha, are some of the few. Kakao has decided they want in on the market, and are set to launch their platform soon.
With every new app comes the need to drum up some buzz and attract people to join. The platform will be home to a few of the most anticipated webdramas for 2020. Popular webtoon remakes are getting their footing on the app. Here’s a list of dramas that are slated to air on Kakao’s new platform.
1. “AMANZA”
Starring actor Jisoo, AMANZA is about a young, 26 year old man that is diagnosed with cancer and starts retreating into his own imagination in search of miracles.
2. “Myeoneuragi”
Although it has yet to have an English title, Myeoneuragi is a feminist drama about the struggles married women face. The drama will star Park Ha Sun.
3. “Love Revolution”
Perhaps one of the more famous webtoons, Love Revolution stars rookie actress Lee Ruby and Park Jihoon, of ex-Wanna One fame. It is his first starring role, and he plays the male lead that falls for the prickly Wang Ja Rim.
4. “A Love So Beautiful”
We just got the confirmed cast list a day ago, and it seems that the drama has already gotten picked up. The drama will star former X1‘s Kim Yohan and actress So Ju Yeon. It is a Korean remake of the famous Chinese drama, about the love story between two highschool friends.
5. “Not Used To Thirty”
Quite apt for our male lead, as he just turned 30 in Korea this year. CNBLUE‘s Kang Minhyuk makes his first drama comeback after serving his mandatory military service in this drama. Not much yet is out about the drama itself, although our female lead will be Jung In Sun.
6. “City Couple’s Way Of Love”
Fans of Ji Chang Wook and Kim Ji Won, rejoice! The pair will be in a short drama about how a couple lets their love blossom in the harsh city.
