The 2024 MAMA Awards (Mnet Asian Music Awards) kicked off on November 21 at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, California, and continued on November 22 and 23 at the Kyocera Dome in Osaka, Japan. This year’s award show marked the first time it’s been hosted in the U.S. and the first time it’s been held outside East and Southeast Asia, proving how global K-Pop has become.
This is also seen in global groups, such as HYBE and Geffen Records‘ KATSEYE, who made their MAMA debut. The group performed a collaboration stage with the LA Rams Cheerleaders. Unfortunately, one KATSEYE member was missing, much to fans’ disappointment.
On the day of the event, Weverse updated with a brief statement explaining that Manon would be absent. She was recovering from an illness.

Manon is now responding to accusations that she is not “flexible” by proving haters wrong.
She and Daniela recently held a live broadcast together. She addressed the hate comments she saw after her award show absence. With Daniela’s encouragement, she showed off her flexibility, doing a split.
