KBS Faces Backlash For Camera Work Quality At 2024 Gayo Daechukje

Fans were appalled.

On December 21, various K-Pop artists gathered to perform at the 2024 KBS Gayo Daechukje Global Festival (KBS Song Festival).

The show included not only performances from groups but also collaboration stages with senior and junior artists.

However, many fans and viewers were disappointed in KBS’s camera work for the performances. They felt the show included unnecessary angles, such as drone shots, audience shots, and zoomed-out shots.

Due to this type of camera work, many parts of the performance, including dance breaks, and outfits could not be seen closely.

The angles from KBS are really….what do they want me to look at?

Even the visual director for NCT 127‘s outfits was disappointed that the camera didn’t capture the member’s custom-made outfits they prepared hard for.

Korean media outlets were even calling out the broadcasting company for its camera production.

Fans were also disappointed at NCT 127 Doyoung‘s one second camera shot for a two song performance!

And when they thought the show itself couldn’t be any worse, the individual fancam quality they posted on the YouTube channel came as another shock. Turns out they didn’t film separate shots, but instead used the group performance video and cut it to make the individual fancams.

The logo quality is 1080p, but the rest is in 240p or 144p..how is this possible..

Fans had to watch other videos filmed by fans or fansite master videos for better quality and angles. Although upset, fans are hopeful that the upcoming music shows will have better quality!
