KCON confirmed to be held in New York as well as Los Angeles in 2015
Watch out New York City, because KCON is finally coming to you this year!
KCON 2015 was previously confirmed when the first video teaser for the annual K-pop event was released, revealing that it had expanded from a 2-day convention to a 3-day convention, lasting from July 31st to August 2nd. Not only that, it has upgraded its arena as it moves from the Los Angeles Memorial Sports Arena to the Staples Center.
What caught the eyes of East Coast fans from KCON’s initial teaser was a hint that New York was a potential stop in 2015, with an apple being displayed for a brief moment. No venue or exact date has been shared as of yet, but the city will definitely be welcoming KCON soon.
On April 24th, KCON will be holding its first live chat episode of “#KCONLIVECHAT,” and according to the description, will be asking fans “who you want to see at KCON 2015–LA & NY.”
In 2012, KCON was held at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater in Irvine, California, but moved to the Los Angeles Memorial Sports Arena in 2013 and 2014. Not only did they move to a bigger arena in 2013 and 2014, but also expanded from a one-day con to a two-day con. The event has already made its first expansion to overseas in Japan, which was successfully held on April 22nd at the Saitama Super Arena.
