Did Kep1er Leave WAKEONE? Netizens Confused About The Group’s New Contract With A Different Agency
According to a report by SPOTV News on September 30, KST, Kep1er has signed a contract with the agency KLAP Entertainment (KLAP hereon).
The news has stirred some confusion among fans since the members are already signed under WAKEONE, and their contract doesn’t expire until the next few years. As it turns out, the contract with KLAP pertains to the management of the group members.

Kep1er, which debuted through the Mnet reality competition show Girls Planet 999 in 2021, originally had nine members on its lineup. In 2024, when the group’s initial contract with WAKEONE was over, members Kang Yeseo and Mashiro left the group, while the seven others re-signed with WAKEONE and reassembled Kep1er as a seven-member ensemble.
As the group prepares to relaunch the second phase of its career, WAKEONE and KLAP will partner to manage all members’ activities, including management.
In particular, the contract with KLAP will reunite Kep1er with the staff who worked with them on their debut album, First Impact, which was a significant success for the group. Their song “Wadada” became a chart-topper, bagging the group their first music show win in just 12 days after debut.
Kep1er will join SISTAR19 (a subunit of SISTAR consisting of Hyolyn and Bora) and VANNER (created through the survival show Peak Time) on the roster as artists managed by KLAP.
