KeyEast Announces Legendary 2021 Drama Lineup: ₩40 Billion KRW Space Rom-Com, A Hospital “OINTB”, And More
KeyEast, while more known for their lineup of actors and actresses, is also a drama production company and they have revealed the first four dramas they plan to produce in 2021. KeyEast revealed the four dramas and their tentative names for them, and they are all varying genres.

JTBC‘s Live On in a co-production with Playlist,
And JTBC‘s Hush in December.
The first drama is one of KeyEast’s most ambitious dramas of the year, investing over ₩40 billion KRW ($36,406,360 USD) into production for their new space station romantic comedy Ask the Stars. The drama will be headed by PD Seo Sook Hyang, who previously worked on Jealousy Incarnate and Pasta. The drama is currently in the casting phase, targeting high profile actors to intrigue overseas fans.
The second drama is tentatively title A Marvelous Sight, and is touted as the Asian version of BBC‘s spy-thriller series Killing Eve. It will show the battle between a female detective in her 40’s and a female, university student who is also a serial killer. The drama will be written by Sung Cho Yi, who wrote Nobody Knows and led by Falsify PD Lee Jeong Heum. They are in the final stages of casting a Hallyu star actress, and pre-purchase requests from China and Japan are flowing in.
The third drama is being labeled as the hospital version of American series Orange is the New Black called Just One Person. Writer Moon Jung Min, who worked on Matrimonial Chaos and PD Oh Hyeon Jung, who worked on Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-joo, Two Cops, and Find Me in Your Memory will be taking the reigns of this drama. No further details were released.
Finally, the last drama KeyEast has planned is an idol group themed drama for OTT platforms called Illumination. Another series based on Chung Serang‘s works, the drama will show the growing pains of idol group members. It will also show the struggles of the professionals around the idol members, and share the narratives of them as they guide the newcomers into the K-Pop industry. SM Entertainment will be a collaborator for this drama.
