The 2018 Singapore Summit officially began at 9am local time (10am KST) with Kim Jong Un and Donald Trump meeting in front of international media at the Capella Hotel on Singapore’s Sentosa Island.
The leaders will return to the hotel to hold a private meeting for roughly 45 minutes in this room.
The group attending with Donald Trump includes US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, US National Security Advisor John Bolton, White House Chief of Staff John Kelly, CIA Korea Mission Center Head Andrew Kim, and US Ambassador to the Philippines Sung Kim.
Travelling with Kim Jong Un include his younger sister Kim Yo Jung, Vice Chairman of the Central Committee Ri Su Yong, Vice Chairman of the Worker’s Party Kim Yong Chol, and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ri Yong Ho.
Kim Jong Un was seen arriving at the location at 8:54 local time ahead of the meeting.
Donald Trump was seen arriving at 8:59 local time.
The two leaders walked towards the stage from opposite sides of the building before meeting at the center.
They shook hands before facing the media at the hotel.
They stayed infront of the hotel for under a minute, before retreating back into the shade.
Donald Trump was confident the meeting would be a success.

Kim Jong Un returned the favor, praising the effort given by both sides to make the meeting happen.
“Well, it wasn’t easy to get to this point. The past has affected us and the old prejudices against us work as obstacles on our way forward, but we overcame all of them and are here today.” — Kim Jong Un
This is the second historical meeting for Kim Jong Un this year, as he previously traveled to South Korea for the first time back in April.
